Texas just can’t even seem to be average. Just playing .500 baseball seems too much to ask of this team. They came into Anaheim with what would have seemed like the golden opportunity, after having won two out of three against a bad Colorado team. They had the momentum of a two-game winning streak behind them.
But no. They dropped the first two to an even worse Angels team. Maybe it’s time to come to grips with the reality: the Rangers are not good enough to be average. Even in an American League West where no team seems it want to win, they simply aren’t going to rise to the middle.
