Seager out again.

Corey Seager, MIA.

The treading of water continues.

The Rangers were able to salvage the final game of the series in Boston. It was the Red Sox first series win at home since the first week of April.

Texas is, once again, a game under .500 and going nowhere.

It appears the Rangers are going to have to go nowhere without expecting much of Corey Seager for a while. He’s already missed 24 games—about a third of the season—and will probably miss a few more due to concussion syndrome. It’s a common occurrence. Since the World Series year of 2023, Seager has played in slightly more than two-thirds of Rangers games: 119 in ’24, 123 in ’25, and ‘102 last year. Missed time aside, he was very productive when he was playing. That hasn’t been the case this year.

Even in the 47 games he’s played, the Rangers haven’t gotten much out of him. He can’t seem to stay on the field long enough to get things going.

After missing 20 games, he came back for five, only to miss the last three.

MLB concussion protocol could mean a seven-day IL stint, meaning he’d miss four more games. Maybe it’s for the best. Clear his head, for real and metaphorically.

The only way the Rangers have a chance to do any kind of sustained run is if they get Corey back—both physically and production-wise. When Seager is right, he’s the engine of the offense.
