On July 9 of this year, Six Flags of Texas debuted a new roller coaster called the Tormenta. It is the talles and fastest dive coaster in the world. 

At two-minutes and fifty-four seconds, the ride is also the longest dive coaster in the world. 

Two-minutes and fifty-four seconds has nothing on the four- month roller coaster ride the Rangers have been taking their fans on this year. 

The roller coaster season continued with yesterday’s 2-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles, which duplicated their 2-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Friday night. This makes four wins in a row. This followed six losses in a row. Which followed two wins, a loss, two wins, a loss, one wins, two losses, a win, a loss, and so on. A roller coaster, up and down season, where the Rangers hover around .500 the entire time.

After being swept by Houston and shoved 2.5 games behind them, Texas has roller coasted its way back to within a-half-game of the Astros in the division nobody wants to win. 

But don’t get too excited about this four-game winning streak. Because what this team has constantly reminded its fans of are the laws of Rangers physics, drops are inversely proportional to rises, and in the end, it all levels out.

An apt name for this ride would be the Tormenter, because following the Texas Rangers in 2026 always seems to cause great suffering.
