Brewers take Game 1.   Recently updated !

Like this year, the Brewers and Dodgers faced off in National League Championship Series in 2025. And, like last year, the Brewers had the best record in baseball.

But last year, the Brewers were swept four games to none by the Dodgers, scoring just one run a game in all four games. They came into that series with a roar. Exited with a whimper.

This year, at least in Game 1, the tables turned. The Dodgers won last year’s Game 1 by the score of 2-1. Last night, the Brewers returned the favor, also winning 2-1.

It was an old school pitching matchup. Jacob Misiorowski starting for Milwaukee, Tarik Skubal starting for Los Angeles. Misiorowski wasn’t his best. After giving up a single in the first, he escaped damage with a double play ball. In the second, he gave up a leadoff walk. Two singles loaded the bases with one out, then he walked in the first run. He got out of further damange with a double play. He gave up a leadoff single in the third and fourth. And after a walk in the fifth, he was taken out. A double play got the Brewers out of any trouble.

Meanwhile, Skubal was cruising. He retired Milwaukee out in order in the first. Gave up a double in the second but no runs. Retired them in order in the third. But gave up a leadoff homer to tie it in the fourth. A leadoff walk in the fifth was his undoing. The Brewers baseballed the runner over to second with a bunt, then scored the runner with a single up the middle. That made it 2-1, and that’s how it ended.

There was a bit of drama in the ninth when the Brewers closer walked two Dodgers with two outs, but Mookie Betts flew out to deep center to end it.

Milwaukee takes Game 1 with some old-fashioned baseball.
