Rain washed out yesterday’s Game 4 in Cleveland. It’s scheduled for today.

It’s an interesting matchup, the Rays and Guardians. It’s a Tampa Bay team that has never won a World Series, and a Cleveland team that has the longest World Series championship drought, having last won in 1948.

They will be facing the Milwaukee Brewers, another of the five teams that has never won a World Series—along with Colorado, San Diego, and Seattle (who had never even been).

No matter the outcome of this year’s World Series, there is going to be one franchise exorcising the demon of failure like the Rangers did in 2023. You just hope for their sake they don’t immediately fall back into irrelevance like the Rangers have.
