Is it World Series yet?
No. Not until tomorrow.
One thing is clear watching the playoffs that led to this point and the brand of baseball the last four teams standing play: the Rangers had no business at all even thinking they were a playoff-caliber team. Houston got swept out in two games. And Houston beat the Rangers nine out of 13 times. Houston, a far superior team to the Rangers, didn’t stand a chance in the playoffs and proved they didn’t belong. The Rangers had no business thinking they belonged.
So, here’s hoping the Rangers front office doesn’t actually think they were close. They weren’t close. They aren’t close. They are not in the same neighborhood to close.
Enjoy the World Series. Remember what good baseball looks like. We haven’t seen that from the Texas Rangers since 2023. And, barring a major roster overhaul, won’t see it again in 2027, if we see baseball at all.
