Corey Seager came back, got two hits, and it didn’t matter. The Rangers lost.

Actually, it wasn’t a loss. It was a mugging. It was a beatdown. The Rangers were humiliated 11-2 in Houston by the Astros who have moved into first place in the pitiful A.L. West.

The perpetually mediocre team is back to .500 again. They don’t have a strong rotation. They don’t have a strong bullpen. They don’t have a strong lineup. 

Worse, they don’t have a strong farm system needed to get the parts they need to shore up their rotation, their bullpen, and their lineup.

Yes, it’s a horrible division that no team wants to win. But does anyone really think that this team is just a few rental players away from being good? We’re not even shooting for elite or great, here. This team isn’t even good. It’s not bad. But it’s not good. 

The Rangers will make a few cursory moves to try to improve. Maybe it will get the most diehard fans to believe. But, sorry, as bad as this division is, .500 isn’t winning it. And that’s what this team is.
