It doesn’t get any easier. After losing two of three to the best team in the American League, the Rangers come home to face the best team in the National League.
The Cubs are coming to town, and they’re bringing a nine-game winning streak with them. Texas is sending out its fourth and fifth starters to being the series. It’s going to be difficult to watch.
After all, the Rangers got steamrolled by the Yankees in two of the three games. It’s bad enough that they aren’t hitting, especially not with runners in scoring position. But the defense that was stellar last year has abandoned them. And the rotation that was dominating one-through-five is now iffy after one and two.
If you’re a Cubs fan, it’s going to be a three-day party getting to watch your team without having to travel to Wrigley. If you’re a Rangers fan, all you can do is hope for some sort of spark where there has been none yet.
