A funny thing happened to the Ranger in Sacramento last night. They played a home game on the road.
They couldn’t hit. They couldn’t score. They had few baserunners. And when they did, they couldn’t move them over. They had no offense. Neither did the Athletics. But Sacramento had one more than Texas and beat the Rangers 2-1.
It was a slow, boring snoozefest. Just like they were at home.
The Rangers got a leadoff double from Brandon Nimmo, who scored when Jake Burger singled. And that was it. Eight innings of offensive futility.
MacKenzie Gore couldn’t find the strike zone, walking six, two in third inning in which the Athletics scored their two runs.
It was 2-1 in the third. And ended up 2-1.
They were home away from home.
