Rangers slide continues.

Ezequiel Duran triples in the ninth,

The Rangers are officially in the same league as the Yankees, but the Rangers are not in the same league as the Yankees.

New York ripped into Jacob deGrom. He’s the best the Rangers have. That doesn’t bode well for Nathan Eovaldi and MacKenzie Gore, the next two victims of Yankees maulings.

Texas got off to a great start, scoring three in the first. Then their offense took the next seven innings off, scoring a meaningless run in the ninth after the score was already 7-3.

Sorry, but with Brandon Nimmo injured, the Rangers are down to two hitters: Josh Jung and Ezequiel Duran. And both came through with three hits. The offense simply isn’t good enough to compete with a team like the Yankees.

It’s going to take a miracle to make this Rangers offense competitive. They certainly don’t have the talent in the farm system to come up and make a difference, or to be dealt for any meaningful pieces.

All the Rangers can do is wait for Nimmo to get back, and hope Corey Seager can eventually figure it out.

Until then, enjoy baseball.
