That’s called a winning streak.
The Rangers have won three in a row and can go for a sweep of Toronto today. This is thanks to an offense that is finally clicking.
The Rangers jumped out ahead with one run in the first, then put it away with five in the fifth. For good measure, they added one more run in the sixth.
They got production up and down the lineup. Even in the mddle—Corey Seager hit a home run. The only starters who didn’t get a hit were Joc Pederson and Nicky Lopez (and Jered Kelenic, but he left the game early.
They don’t need production for all nine, it’s rare that happens. But they need the ability to drive in runs when it matters, and at that the Rangers are the worst team in baseball. They can get them on base. They just cannot drive them home.
That’s a problem because it’s the touching of home that counts as a run, and the accumulation of more runs than the opponent that constitutes a win.
But the Rangers have three of those wins in a row now. Today, they go for four. And the chance to get back to .500 once again.
