First place.

Kumar Rocker pitched six shutout innings to put the Rangers in first place in the AL West.

Location, location, location.

That’s the most important word in real estate, and the most important word in baseball. At least for the Texas Rangers.

It may be a joke of a division, but the Rangers are in first place. Talk about being at the right place.

Like the tallest munchkin in the Wizard of Oz, the Rangers loom large over the American League West at 42-42. The other five under .500.

They’d be 8 games out of first in the N.L. East, 9.5 in the N.L. Central, and 12 games out of first in the N.L. West. They’d be 6.5 out in the A.L. East and 2 games out of the A.L. Central.

But this immensely flawed team is less flawed than the other immensely flawed teams.
