Maybe, just maybe Globe Life Field is not a haven for the dead ball era as popular opinion would have one believe. Maybe, just maybe, the Rangers bats are where the dead ball era lives.
Texas played nine innings of baseball last night. They sent thirty-three batters to the plate. They got two hits.
The Cubs had two hits by their fourth batter.
The Rangers are simply not good, and certainly not good enough to compete with the upper-echelon teams like the Yankees or the Cubs, who feed off teams like Texas.
It’s just boring baseball.
On the plus side, this summer and fall, there should be plenty of promos and sales as the Rangers slash prices in a desperate plea for fans to come to The Shed.
That’s only fair. Fans deserve to pay discount rates to watch a discount team.
